A female has the parts, a girl has ambition, a dime piece has the beauty, a lady has the class, a woman has the brains, a ma’am has the power, a mrs. has a commitment, mama has the patience and granny has the wisdom… Lord how I long to be all of those… Lord, I want it all thru you. Her voice in insane! This is why I absolutely love her music!  I know a lot of people don’t necessarily like her and that’s cool, but I love her voice!  And this acoustic version is bananas.

What would it be like if we could see the soul of each person rather than what they wear on the outside??

Girl’s Night Out

The other night, I was invited out for a night with “the girls.” I told my husband that I would be home by midnight. “I promise,” were my last words.

The hours passed and the margaritas went down way too easily and around 3 a.m. we piled into a cab and headed to our respective homes, quite inebriated.

Just as I walked through the door, the cuckoo clock in the hall started up and cuckooed 3 times!

Realizing that my husband would probably wake up to this, I quickly cuckooed another 9 times. I was quit pleased with myself for coming up with such a quick witted solution to cover up my tardiness. Even with my impaired judgment, I could count 3 cuckoos plus 9 cuckoos equaled 12 cuckoos!

The next morning, my husband asked me what time I got in, and confidently, I replied, “Midnight…like I promised.” He didn’t even raise and eyebrow and went on reading the morning paper! Phew! Got away with that one!

After a moment, he then replied, “I think we might need a new cuckoo clock.”

A bit nervously, I asked him why, to which he responded:

“Well, last night our clock cuckooed 3 times, then said, ‘Oh, crap,’ cuckooed 4 more times, cleared it’s throat, cuckooed another 3 times, giggled, cuckooed twice more, then tripped over the coffee table and farted.”

You are stronger than you seem, braver than you believe, and smarter than you think you are.

I am so excited to be planning a little anniversary celebration for my parents.  They have been married for 30 years.  Such an inspiration of love, friendship, and companionship.  After 30 years my parents are still best friends!

So I stumbled across the Buffet website somehow and it made me realize I really miss playing my Clarinet. Like a lot. I was an average clarinetist. I probably could have been better if I practiced more, but I enjoyed it. My favorite note that I could probably get lost listening to and here continuously for a long time would be the 2nd Octave C (Bb). It’s just such a full sounding, pleasant note. Ugh what I would do to go back to having band everyday sometimes. I know at times I hated it but I miss it now. Especially seeing my friends everyday and playing together. That feeling of getting lost in a really good piece of music and having fun playing it can not be replaced by anything else. Only people who play an instrument would understand. Even though I don’t play anymore, there will never be an empty space in my head and heart labeled “band” because I have way too many memories for it to be barren. Memories of concerts, football games, field shows, songs, even specific notes that just make me feel fuzzy inside. I will always be a band nerd. No matter what.

motivation for life.

All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you’re not good enough or strong enough or talented enough, they’ll say you’re the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no until all the no’s become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly. They will tell you no. And YOU WILL TELL THEM YES
